A 100 m² home
100 ÷ 0.09290304 = 1 076.39 ft². A 1 500 ft² house is 1 500 × 0.09290304 = 139.35 m². A 12 ft × 10 ft room is 120 ft², which is 11.15 m².
Why it is not 3.28
A foot is 0.3048 m, so a square foot is 0.3048 × 0.3048 = 0.09290304 m². That makes 1 m² about 10.764 ft², not the 3.28 you would use for a length. Always square the length factor when converting area. A square yard is 9 ft², or 0.83612736 m², and a hectare is 10 000 m².
